What's New in Web of Knowledge?
The current version of Web of Knowledge includes the following new features.
Did You Mean ...
Web of Knowledge databases now include a spell checker to check your queries against common spellings and their variants to determine if an alternative spelling exists that would improve your search results.
If an alternative spelling exists, a Did You Mean text box appears above your query offering you an alternative query. The tool checks full terms -- not truncated terms or terms within quotation marks.
Did You Mean uses a custom dictionary of highly used keywords and terms in Web of Knowledge to provide suggestions in line with the field that you are currently searching.
Search Settings -- Show Suggestions
Quickly find a specific journal in the Publication Name field or find similar journal names that may be valuable to your research. The product displays up to 10 suggestions as you type at least 3 characters. The list automatically updates as you type more than 3 characters.
Set Show Sugguestions to ON (default option) in Search Settings to list publications in the Publication Name field.
Search suggestions are based on your organization's subscription. The selected journal name does not always guarantee that the system finds records because the search timespan you select may filter out qualified articles.
We have redesigned the user interface to make it easier for you to perform routine tasks such as:
Most output options are now consolidated into a Send To dropdown menu that lets you select a preferred output method.
Spanish and Portuguese have been added as user interface languages.
Thomson Reuters supports the following operating systems and browsers for Web of Knowledge product databases, including EndNote and the Structure Search function in Web of Science.
Thomson Reuters does not support beta versions of any Web browser.
Support of Browsers
At the end of 2013, Thomson Reuters will no longer support Firefox 3.6 for Macintosh users or support the previously retired Internet Explorer, version 6 for Windows. Please upgrade your browsers for a consistent experience with future Web of Knowledge releases.

Search Settings: Show Suggestions Feature (Caution)
Selecting the Chinese language as the Search Language in All Databases or the Chinese Science Citation Index automatically turns off the Show Suggestions setting in all silo product databases in Web of Knowledge. The OFF option will actually appear in the Show Suggestions box in all product databases.
To turn back on the Show Suggestions feature, you must first select English or Auto Select as the Search Language in Search Settings. Next, you must set the Show Suggestions feature to ON. Once this happens, the ON option will appear in the Show Suggestions box in all product databases.
You can go to Web of Science and other product databases and manually turn on Show Suggestions.
Adding Records to Your EndNote Account
To use this feature, you must be a registered user of Web of Knowledge and you must sign in.
If you are not signed in after you select the record(s) to add to your EndNote account, the system prompts you to sign in after you click the EndNote link. The system then returns you to the Results or Full Record page from where you will have to re-submit your records to your EndNote library.
