ResearcherID

ResearcherID.com is a freely available resource for the global, multi-disciplinary scholarly research community. After registering, you are assigned an individual ID number that stays with you over the course of your career, regardless of name changes or change in institution affiliation.

ResearcherID allows you to create an online Profile for showcasing your publication history. It is designed to associate you with your scholarly work, thus assuring an accurate record of output and attribution. It also provides a gateway for colleagues to quickly locate your published work and to identify you as a potential collaborator.

ResearcherID Features

At ResearcherID.com, you can:

• Update your biographical (Profile) information at anytime.

• Build your "My Publications" list by uploading works that you authored from any product database in Web of Science including the Author Search function in Web of Science Core Collection.

• Manage your publication list with EndNote.

• Control whether your Profile is public or private, much like people do on Facebook and other Web sites.

• View citation metrics for items found in Web of Science Core.

• Search the registry to find collaborators, review publication lists, and explore how research is used around the world.

• Designate an administrator at your institution to update your ResearcherID publication list.

Researcher ID Tools

In addition, ResearcherID includes an interactive Labs environment for exploration of author-level metrics. These tools allow for visual analysis of research networks based on:

• Subject Category
• Country / Territory
• Institution
• Author Name
• Publication Year
• Geographic Location

The tools include:

• Citing Articles Network - Visually explore who is citing your published works.

• Collaboration Network - Visually explore your collaboration associates.

• Create a Badge - Place an image graphic on any Web site to show your membership in ResearcherID. The badge displays a real-time summary of your Profile and publications on mouse-hover.

Designating Administrator Access

An administrator is an individual with a ResearcherID account who is associated with an organization or institution. The designated person can perform administrative activities within ResearcherID and utilize the ResearcherID upload web service. An administrator may be granted proxy access to the ResearcherID accounts of other researchers at your institution in order to manage and update their accounts.

Updating Your ResearcherID Information

ResearcherID information is updated in Web of Science Core Collection on a weekly basis. You can assist in this effort by creating an account and publication list in ResearcherID. You should only add publications to your publication list that you have authored. This will aid Clarivate Analytics in providing an accurate association between Web of Science Core Collection publications and RID numbers, and thus provide more accurate search results when you perform a search on an author’s RID number.

To update your information in ResearcherID, go to any Results or Full Record page in Web of Science and click the I Wrote These Publications button. Follow the online instructions to claim the works that you published.
