Total Product Use Report

The Total Product Use report shows all subsessions and queries for a product database, regardless of how the database is accessed. By collecting these data in a single table, the Total Product Use report provides the most accurate enumeration of subsessions and queries for a single database.


Usage Summary Table

The Summary table breaks usage down by the following access categories.

Access Category Definition
All Databases Search all Web of Knowledge product databases to which your institution subscribes.
All Databases - Web Services Search all Web of Knowledge product databases via Web Services.
Product Search a product database in Web of Knowledge
Product - Web Services Search a product database via Web Services.

For example, this report shows that for June 2010, there were 3000 subsessions and 4000 queries for Web of Science accessed in Web of Knowledge. In addition, there were 275 All Databases subsessions and 550 All Databases queries. Since Web of Science is always included in an All Databases search, the total number of subsessions for Web of Science is 3275 and the total number of queries for Web of Science is 4550.

In addition, this report reveals that Web of Science was not accessed via Web Services during June 2010.

Note: If your institution subscribes to only one database, the All Databases columns will not appear on the report.
