Shared References

View a list of cited references that are shared between two documents.

The primary document appears at the top of the page to the right of the Shared References title. The first author (or editor) and title of the primary document appear in this field. The primary document contains the cited references that are listed in the Results list.

The secondary document appears directly below the primary document under the "Are also cited by" heading. The first author and title of the secondary document appear in this field. The secondary document also contains the cited references that are listed in the Results list.

  • The first line of a shared document displays the title of the record. The record must be a source document (in our databases) and your institution must have an entitlements subscription to access the Full Record. If the record is not a source record, then the product display: Title: [not available]

  • The second line displays the names of up to three authors of the document followed by "et al." if there are additional secondary authors of the publication.

  • If available, the third line displays source information, including the name of the cited item followed by the Volume, Issues, Pages, DOI (Digital Object Identier), and Published date.

  • The fourth line displays the Times Cited count (citing articles). An active link only appears if the Times Cited count is greater than zero ( 0 ). The link takes you to a Results page that lists the records in the Times Cited count field. A record must be a source document (indexed in our databases) and your institution must have an entitlements subscription to access the Full Record.

About English and Chinese Data

If both English and Chinese data are available for the primary document, the product displays both languages on separate lines with the Chinese data coming before the English data.

Navigation Controls

  • To return to the Related Records page, click the Back to previous results link that appears at the top of the page.

  • To view Citing Articles, click the Times Cited link. Want to know more?

  • To go to the Full Record page of any article in the Results list, click the document title link. This feature must be available in your entitlements subscription.

Check Mark Icon

A check mark Check mark icon icon that appears to the left of a record indicates the record has been selected and added to your Marked List in Web of Knowledge.

EndNote Web Icon

An EndNote Web EndNote Web icon icon that appears to the left of a record indicates the record has been saved to your EndNote Web library in Web of Knowledge. Click the icon to go to your EndNote Web library.

This icon only appears if you have signed in and if the record is already in your EndNote Web library. For information on how to save a record to your library, see Save to EndNote Web.
