indexAbout the Search LanguageIn selecting a search language, you select an index to search. For example, if you select English and search the Author field, the system will search the index that contains English-language author names. It will not search the index that contains Russian-language names. If Auto-select is the setting, the system will 1) detect the language of the search term(s) and then 2) search the appropriate index. For example:
indexTo find all records in which either Лобастов, К.В. or Lobastov, K.V. is an author, perform two searches. Then go to Search History and combine the two search sets using the OR operator:
Keep in mind that the name Lobastov, K.V. may appear in the author list in records from databases aside from Russian Science Citation Index. Consequently, an author search for Lobastov, K.V. executed in Russian Science Citation Index may retrieve fewer records than the same search executed in All Databases. indexScientific Terms and AbbreviationsMany scientific terms and abbreviations always appear in English.
