Reaction Data

If you select both databases and you enter term(s) in this section, you will only retrieve records from Current Chemical Reactions. You will not, however, see this section of the Chemical Search page if you select Index Chemicus® but not Current Chemical Reactions® to search.

  1. In the Reaction Data section, enter term(s) in one or more Reaction Data fields. You can enter up to 11 different terms joined by search operators.

  2. [Optional] Scroll up to the Structure Drawing section to enter a structure query and/or to the Compound Data section to enter compound data terms.

  3. Click Search.


Reaction Data Fields

Atmosphere

Select a value from the box: Any, Air, O2, N2, H2, He, Ar, CO, CH4, or CO2

Time (Hrs)

Enter a single value or a value preceded by the greater than (<) or less than (>) sign. For example:

  • 24
  • <10
  • >2

Product Yield

The product yield is expressed as a percentage. Enter as a single value or a value preceded by the greater than (<) or less than (>) sign. For example: 100 or >80

Pressure (Atm)

Enter a single value or a value preceded by the greater than (<) or less than (>) sign. For example: >1 or >5 AND <20

Temperature (C)

Enter as a single value (in degrees Celsius) or a value preceded by the greater than (<) or less than (>) sign. For example:

  • 25
  • <0
  • >-40

Other

Click the Terms List link to go to a page where you can search for terms to add to your search. For example:

  • Ultrasound
  • Irradiation
  • Column chromatograph
  • Photochemical OR sunlight
  • One pot AND dark*

Refluxed flag

Check the box to retrieve reactions that have been flagged as refluxed.

Reaction Keyphrases

Keyphrases identify:

  • general compound classes
  • named reactions
  • new catalysts and reagents
  • total syntheses

Click the Keyphrase List link to look up keyphrases and add them to your search. For example:

  • Oligosaccharides
  • Diels-Alder
  • Ring closure
  • Solid phase synthesis
  • Asymmetric synthesis OR stereoselective

Reaction Comments

Comments can include advantages, limitations, warnings and other qualitative data. For example:

  • Explosive
  • Commercial* AND cheap
  • Simple OR efficient
